Otis Redding fue un cantante de soul nacido en Georgia el 9 de septiembre de 1941 y muerto en un accidente aéreo en Madison, Wisconsin, el 10 de diciembre de 1967. Fue apodado como "King Of Soul", y conoció su mayor éxito de forma póstuma con el tema "Sittin' on the dock of the bay". Fue también conocido por formar un dúo junto a Carla Thomas.
